TMJ Treatment
Jaw pain, clicking, or difficulty chewing can be signs of a TMJ disorder affecting the joints that connect your jaw to your skull. We offer evaluation and treatment options to help relieve discomfort and restore normal jaw function.
(01)
What to Expect
We'll start with an evaluation of your jaw joint, bite, and symptoms to understand what's contributing to your discomfort. Depending on your needs, treatment may include a custom nightguard, bite adjustment, or other conservative options to help ease tension and improve function.
What Is TMJ?
(02)
Your temporomandibular joints (TMJ) connect your lower jaw to your skull, one in front of each ear. When these joints or the muscles around them are strained, you may feel pain, stiffness or clicking.
Â
Many TMJ problems improve with simple, non-surgical care. Depending on your evaluation, this may include a custom nightguard to protect your teeth and relax your jaw, bite adjustments, and tips on jaw rest, posture and stress habits.

Common Questions
(04)Â Â
Is a custom nightguard better than a store-bought one?
A custom guard is made from impressions of your teeth, so it fits better, stays in place and is more comfortable to wear every night.
Â
Is TMJ related to sleep?
Clenching and grinding often happen during sleep, and some patients with jaw symptoms also have sleep-related breathing problems. With Dr. Reddy’s training in dental sleep medicine, we look at the whole picture.
